i build the halls that only i have seen,
while server fans keep humming through the night;
new plans appear in tabs across my screen,
and every finished room demands a light.

Yet near them, all the noise within me slows,
though still the work lies waiting at the door;
and something uninvited gently grows,
while i sleep deeper than i have before.

i never guessed how quietly i'd change,
while all the open tabs remained in sight;
to find my thoughts at rest still feels so strange,
as if the work could wait another night.

i do not care if some lamps shine less bright,
until we know, i'll keep the work at bay;
and near them, nothing calls me back tonight.

i rest in comfort where i had never thought i may.
